Do you think that the fashionistas the designers like thin models because they're ? Details
- OMG! . I can hardly stop laughing to type this! . They like those skinny, starved, drugged - up, methed - out people because they do not have to worry about curves when fitting them for the clothes, ad they do not want a voluptuous body to take attention away from the clothes!. Always remember, the designers are presenting a FANTASY of their clothes. They are not in the business of selling reality
- I think when they, meaning the fashion industry gets something in their head it stays there, I would like to see all types of models, in the 19, 40's they had voluptuous women, now very thin, I think they just go with a trend till people demand a change
- and what i do not understand. is that once a woman is out of her teen years. the chances of her fitting into these clothes and looking attractive are slim. most woman fill out and are at least 5 pounds over weight. those models are way to skinny and their body shapes resemble men, not a shapely woman. who will be wearing the outfits
- While there is a large percentage of the fashion world that is, obviously not all are. In addition to that, there are plenty of women designers as well. The standard right now, is still thin, not just for designers who are. There's still the problem of body image, and if the camera adds 10 pounds, many figure they better lose 20. Looking through magazines it's very apparent that the dead model look is still pretty popular, and broken doll modeling is still in. Not sure if you know what I mean, but that was the best way I could think to describe it. Next. There are various factors that go into it, one of them being lines. Many designs are created to show the silhouette, and long, thin legs sell in print work. I suppose the basic answer to this, though, is that the standard is usually a size 2. If the dress created is a size 2, chances are that a new model on a go - see is not going to be given the chance of having the whole thing altered for her if she happens to be a size 4. Borderline anorexic. really, it's one way or the other. Judging a. girl because she is thin, though, and saying she is practically. anorexic can be hurtful and the term should not just be thrown around. p. s. First full figure model just won America's Next Top Model. Tides are changing. :
